PinVela Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 30, 2026
PinVela is provided by [Developer Legal Name] (“PinVela,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, used, disclosed, and protected when you use the PinVela iOS application and related support services.
- Privacy at a Glance
PinVela does not require you to create an account.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We do not use your information for cross-app or cross-website tracking.
Location, camera, and photo access are requested only when needed for a feature you choose to use.
Photos, journey records, and location metadata created with the GPS Camera or Journey features remain on your device unless you choose to share or export them.
We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
If PinVela later introduces analytics, advertising, cloud storage, user accounts, or other data-collecting services, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
- Information PinVela May Access or Process
Location Information
With your permission, PinVela may access your approximate or precise location to show your position on a map, provide nearby places, preview routes and traffic conditions, record a journey, calculate distance or direction, add location information to a GPS photo, and provide local time or other location-related features.
Location permission is optional. You can continue using features that do not require location access.
PinVela does not store a history of your precise location on its servers. Journey routes may be stored locally on your device until you delete them or remove the app.
Location requests may be transmitted to the map, traffic, geocoding, route, or content provider needed to return the requested result.
Background Location
If you actively start a journey recording, PinVela may access location information in the background so the route can continue to be recorded when the app is not displayed on screen.
Background location is used only while a journey recording is active. It stops when you finish or discard the journey, disable location access, or otherwise end the recording session.
Camera and Photos
With your permission, PinVela may access your camera so you can capture GPS photos and your photo library so you can save, select, view, or share images.
Photos remain on your device unless you deliberately share or export them through an iOS sharing feature or another clearly identified service.
We do not use your photos for advertising, facial recognition, or biometric identification.
Compass and Motion Information
PinVela may use compass, heading, orientation, or related device sensor information to provide direction, movement, journey-recording, and calibration features.
This information is processed only for the requested feature and is not used to identify you.
Search and Map Requests
When you search for a city, address, landmark, place, or route, the search term and related map request may be sent to the relevant search, map, geocoding, traffic, imagery, route, or live-view provider.
Depending on the provider, a request may also include your approximate location, language, device network address, or technical request information.
Diagnostics
If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers through Apple, we may receive aggregated crash reports, performance information, device model, operating system version, and similar technical data.
We use this information only to maintain security, diagnose errors, and improve reliability.
Support Communications
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and diagnostic details.
We use this information only to respond to your request and provide support.
Purchases
If PinVela offers subscriptions or in-app purchases, payments are processed by Apple.
We do not receive your full payment-card details. We may receive transaction status, product information, country or region, and transaction identifiers needed to verify access and provide support.
- How We Use Information
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
• Provide the feature you requested.
• Display maps, places, routes, traffic information, public live views, and landmark content.
• Record journeys and calculate route statistics.
• Create, save, or share GPS photos and journey content at your direction.
• Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve PinVela.
• Respond to support requests.
• Verify purchases and manage subscriptions, if offered.
• Prevent fraud or misuse.
• Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
We do not use precise location, journey routes, photos, or camera content for targeted advertising.
- Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information with your consent, to provide a service or feature you request, for our legitimate interests in operating and securing PinVela where those interests do not override your rights, or to comply with legal obligations.
You may withdraw permission at any time through iOS Settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before permission was withdrawn.
- How Information May Be Shared
Service Providers
Information necessary to complete a request may be sent to providers of maps, geocoding, routes, traffic, imagery, public live feeds, crash reporting, hosting, support, or purchase verification.
These providers may process data under their own privacy policies.
Apple
Apple may process App Store purchases, subscriptions, app distribution, diagnostics, MapKit requests, and permission controls according to Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
Legal and Safety Reasons
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to a valid government request, protect users or the public, investigate fraud or security issues, or protect our rights and property.
Business Transfers
If the business responsible for PinVela is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Device Permissions and Your Choices
You control access to sensitive device data.
On iOS, you can review or revoke permissions through Settings, Privacy & Security, or Settings, PinVela.
Depending on your device and iOS version, you may:

• Disable background location access.
• Disable camera or photo access.
• Limit access to selected photos.
• Stop sharing diagnostics with developers.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account.
Some features may not work without the permission they require, but permissions can be changed at any time.

PinVela may depend on third-party services to provide maps, search, geocoding, route information, street-level imagery, traffic information, public live views, or other content.
Production services may include:

PinVela displays selected public live content through embedded third-party players or services.
PinVela does not download, host, upload, modify, or independently redistribute the original video streams. The original content continues to be provided and delivered by the applicable third-party platform.
Third-party websites, map content, players, and live feeds are governed by the privacy policies and terms of their respective providers.
PinVela is not responsible for the privacy practices of unaffiliated third parties.
- Data Retention and Deletion
PinVela does not retain precise location, journey routes, or camera content on its servers.
Photos, saved places, journey routes, journey statistics, and preferences stored locally remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app.
Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain records, and comply with law.
Diagnostic information is retained only as long as necessary for security and reliability.
Purchase records may be retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, support, and legal compliance.
Third-party providers may retain request information according to their own privacy policies.
To request access to or deletion of information held by us, contact [Privacy Contact Email].
If information exists only on your device, you can delete it within PinVela or by deleting the app.
We may retain limited information when required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- International Data Transfers
PinVela and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Privacy protections and government-access rules in another country may differ from those in your country.
- Children’s Privacy
PinVela is a general-audience application and is not directed specifically to children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age at which parental consent is required in their jurisdiction.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact [Privacy Contact Email] so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

We will post the revised policy with a new Last Updated date and provide additional notice where required.
